Somatrox (Human Growth Hormone/Somatropin)

Overview:

Somatrox is also used to treat growth hormone deficiency, muscle wasting and improve body composition. Also it is used in body building for muscle hypertrophy and fat loss.

Indications:

• For kids (eg Turners) and adults following pituitary issues -> growth_hormone_deficiency
• Treats muscle wasting in patients with HIV/AIDS or short bowel syndrome.
• Used world over in fitness for muscle building and fat loss

Contraindications:

• Active cancer
• Diabetic retinopathy
• Acute critical illness
• Allergic reaction to Somatropin
• Unregulated Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Administration:

• Sub-Q orIMInjection
• Doses range from 0.16 to 0.24 mg/kg once weekly in children and up to 0.15-0.30 mg/day for adults.
• In general, athletes will use 2-4 IU per day of HGH for 6 – 12 weeks.

Medical Action:

We all know that there is no fountain of youth, but we also can’t ignore the fact synthetic HGH will promote growth and promotes increases in muscle mass and loss fat by simulating production IGF-1.

Boosts the protein synthesis, nitrogen retention and lipid metabolism.

Precautions:

• Check blood glucose and thyroid status.

Side Effects:

Severe: Diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, gynecomastia[ 5 ][11], benign intracranial hypertension,* pancreatitis.

Overdosage:

Can cause side effects that are worse than Hypertrophy(ex: insulin resistance, or acromegaly and fluid retention) OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
